Logo CombO

The CombO group carries a legacy of scientific excellence deeply rooted in the history of computer science in Brazil. Formelly known as TCCO (Theory of Computing, Combinatorics, and Optimization), the group was founded upon the pioneering vision of Professor Imre Simon (1943–2009), a seminal figure who laid the foundations for Computer Science research at IME-USP and was awarded the Grand Cross of the National Order of Scientific Merit.

Over the decades, the group has become an international reference, distinguished by its frontier research and the training of generations of high-level researchers. Today, CombO honors and expands this tradition, fostering a vibrant environment of global collaboration and academic rigor.
